There are many ways to lose belly fat quick. But the key point to gain out of this article is - don't pressure yourself by giving yourself a short time frame, or to please anyone for losing your belly fat. The best way to lose belly fat is to do it for yourself, commit to a long term plan with the focus to improving your health. Hence ignore the scales and follow the guidelines below to help you get start and changes your ways to lose belly fat quick and keep the weight off-

1. You've heard it before, but it's true - Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. These are still top of the list for the best foods to eat when dieting as they contain nutrients and fibers which help the body system. The fiber in fruits and vegetables help us digest food properly which contributes to a much healthier body, and keeps you full longer. Stick to the 2 serves of fruits and 5 serves of veggies every day!

2. The first and simplest thing you can do is to drink water. Most of the time when you believe you're hungry - you are actually just thirsty. The reason for this confusion is that the signals for both hunger and thirst are very similar and it can be easily confused for hunger. So by drinking a large glass of water "that has no calories" you won't eat as often and when you do eat you will also eat less. Not only that,water is great for you - much better than the fizzy drinks and sugary juice drinks. It's the sugar in those drinks that bare the dead calories and will add inches to your waistline.

3. Control your meal - better yet stick to the 1 plate rule only. No second serves. However, there are quite a few of us that have been taught to eat everything on our plate. Unfortunately, this habit is hard to break. But you can improve on that by using smaller plates or bowls. This will literally trick your eye into thinking you have more food. Another way to get the right portions is to use your plate as a guide. Fill half of your plate with vegetables, one-quarter for whole grains, and one-quarter for protein. This makes eating healthier a snap. It may be difficult at first, but overtime your body will adapt to the smaller portions, and you feel better for it. And this is where having six healthy mini meals a day helps - that is eat more often but in controlled portions to curb the cravings!

4. Once you begin a healthy eating regime, it is important to stick to it. Give yourself at least one month to get used to eating differently. Remember, a habit takes that long to be broken. Since eating badly is a habit, you will have to re-train yourself to eat in moderation. Cut out pointless snacking, so lay off the potato chips and soda. While you don't have to give these foods up forever, you will have to cut down until you have learned not to gorge on them.

5. 'Go Green' - 'Green' is the word today, both in the environmental and health sense. Recent studies have shown that drinking green tea aids in boosting the body's metabolism. That is why, we are seeing so many health related green tea products in the market. Green tea will definitely benefit your body and reduce the risk of many illnesses. Drinking one to three cups a day is a healthier alternative to several cups of caffeine-laden coffee. Keep in mind, though, this is no miracle cure - you will still need to combine this alternate drink with water, eating healthy, drinking less fizzy drinks and regular physical activity!

If you follow the above guidelines, you are well on your way to losing the inches. And by continually working at it, that is, cooking more, shopping smarter, eating sensibly, drinking less sugary drinks and alcohol, being active and learning new ways to lose belly fat quick, you will improve your health, and more importantly keep the weight off. Start small and aim big.
